Human melanocytes are pigment-producing cells derived from the basal layer of the epidermis or hair follicles, responsible for synthesizing melanin and regulating pigmentation. These cells are isolated from healthy donor skin tissue and expanded in vitro under optimized conditions to retain their morphology, melanin production capability, and responsiveness to UV, cytokines, and growth factors.
