Kidney

Kidney tissue maintains highly regulated filtration, reabsorption, and electrolyte homeostasis and therefore remains highly sensitive to metabolic, inflammatory, and immune-mediated injury. Cross-talk between epithelial, endothelial, stromal, and immune compartments strongly affects barrier integrity, cytokine secretion, extracellular matrix remodeling, and progression of fibrotic damage. Disturbance of renal homeostasis may lead to glomerular dysfunction, tubular injury, chronic inflammation, and irreversible decline of kidney function. Therefore, incorporation of multiple native cellular components is highly essential for predictive modelling of nephrotoxicity and renal disease progression. Preci offers kidney tissue models composed of primary renal cells together with stromal, endothelial, and immune components within physiologically relevant ECM-supported microenvironments, enabling investigation of compound-induced nephrotoxicity, inflammatory activation, fibrotic remodeling, barrier disruption, and immune-mediated kidney injury in vitro.
