Primary human kidney glomerular endothelial cells (HKGEC) are isolated from the glomeruli of human kidney tissue, providing a physiologically relevant model of the renal filtration barrier. These specialized cells line the glomerular capillaries and play a critical role in regulating filtration selectivity, vascular permeability, podocyte interactions, and immune cell trafficking in the glomerulus.

Cryopreserved at P1 to preserve native phenotype and functional responsiveness, these cells form characteristic fenestrated monolayers ideal for studying glomerular injury, proteinuria mechanisms, nephrotoxicity, and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). They are well-suited for co-culture with podocytes and mesangial cells to model the complete glomerular filtration unit.
